Due: Wednesday March 11

Can't find a tutorial right for you? Apply the following steps.

1. Select a photo of yourself, crop so it is a portrait (head and shoulders).  Desaturate (b&w) photo and boost the contrast.

2.Change the size to about 8x10 and resolution 300.

3. Use the polygon lasso tool to select only your portrait, and copy the selection

4. Open a new Photoshop file measuring the same as your portrait.

5. Color the background of this new layer to a mid tone grey or white.

6. Paste your selected image to a new layer.

7. Using the horizontal type tool, type the first from your letter using the color black and select your font.
Under the edit menu at the top of screen, select "free transform".  When scaling the size, hold the shift button so it does not distort.  Use the transformations to fit your words onto the dark values of your image.  Repeat to fill all dark values by using the word multiple times.

Repeat for middle tones-you may use different words from your letter.
